Kiva

The Scandinavian school of Madrid is proud to be the first school in Spain to implement the KiVa programme. KiVa is a research based anti-bullying programme developed by the University of Turku in Finland.

Students well being has always been at the heart of what we do. With the KiVa programme we have found a good structure to help students develop values such as respect for others.

The programme has three components:

Prevention, intervention and monitoring. In addition, KiVa includes both universal and indicated actions. Universal actions are activities that students work with in class, while indicated actions are those actions taken applied in a suspected bullying case.

Students work with KiVa during their weekly “Life Talk” lesson.
