The school maintains open enrollment and accepts new students throughout the year. In courses where there is a waiting list, siblings of students already admitted and children of Nordic origin will be given preference for admission. In addition, the school strives to form groups with balanced numbers of boys and girls, ages and language abilities.
Application for a place
- Fill in and return (scanned by e-mail) the registration form (can be downloaded from the menu on the left) together with the rest of the required documents.
- Pay the registration fee (see fees in the menu on the left). It is important to put the name of the student in the concept of the payment.
- Once the school has received the registration form and the payment of the registration fee, the student will be placed on the waiting list.
- If the application is for Year 1 and upwards (from 5 years old), we may invite the student to take a placement test.
- During the month of February we will confirm places for the following academic year for families whose children already attend Scandinavian School and from March onwards we will be able to start offering the available places in the order of the waiting list.
- By approximately mid-March we will have contacted the families on the waiting list, either to offer you a place for your child or to inform you that we have no places available.
- In order to secure the place that has been offered to you, you must pay the registration fee and deposit.
- If there are no places available, you will have to decide whether to keep your child on the waiting list or remove him/her from the list.
- We admit students during the school year if there are places available.
- If you have any questions, please contact us at colegio@escandinavo.com.

Admission requirements
International Section
- 2-3 years: No prior knowledge of English is required.
- Reception: No previous knowledge of English is required, although we may request an evaluation of the language level. The place will be granted if the teacher considers that, with the help of the extra language classes, the student will be able to reach during the school year the language level necessary for the correct functioning of the student in the following year, i.e. Year 1.
- Year 1: A basic knowledge of the English language and an evaluation by the pedagogical team is required. If it is considered that the student does not reach the minimum levels established for Year 1, a place in the course will be offered as long as the teacher considers that, with the help of the extra language classes, the student will be able to reach during the school year the linguistic level necessary for the correct functioning in the class.
- Year 2: A good level of English is required. The student must have completed at least one academic year in an English-speaking school or have an equivalent knowledge of the language. If the student is deemed not to reach the minimum levels established for Year 2, a place on the course will be offered provided the teacher considers that, with the help of the extra language classes, the student will be able to reach the language level necessary for the correct functioning in the class during the school year.
- Year 3: A high level of proficiency is required.
- Year 4 onwards: A very high level of English is required. Must have completed at least some courses in an English speaking school or have the equivalent level of linguistic proficiency. If it is considered that the student does not reach the minimum levels established for the course for which he/she is applying, he/she will be offered a place on the course provided that the teacher considers that, with the help of the extra language classes, the student will be able to reach during the school year the linguistic level necessary for correct functioning in the class.
In those cases where the previously established requirements are not met, the student will be offered a place if he/she shows potential and enrolls in the English Language Support program.
